Seufert Winery

by Mike on January 18, 2011

From Seufert Winery – Our winery bears the name Seufert (cy-fert) from the winemaker’s family. Owner and winemaker Jim Seufert is a 4th generation Oregonian and loves everything about Oregon.  Jim’s family plays an integral role in the wines – from picking and processing grapes to selling the finished wine… it’s a family affair.  Stop by our winery to experience some of this family love.

Jim started his journey into Pinot Noir and the world of Oregon wines in 2005 as a winemaker in the McMinnville AVA with the help of Randy and Kim Coleman at Coleman Vineyard.  Before jumping into the winemaking business, Jim discovered his love for great wines while globe-trotting some of the worlds best wine producing regions on his employer’s dime.  With this global wine experience, Jim realized that Oregon was the perfect place for a small-scale Pinot Noir winery. He decided to focus on the winemaking part of the business and purchases grapes from regional growers that are dedicated to growing only the best quality grapes.  The grapes come from a dozen different vineyards straight to the small winery in a warehouse in Dayton, Oregon.

We believe that our wines reflect our philosophy to let the vineyard nuances shine through in every sip. Therefore, we use a very light hand when it comes to winemaking. We specialize in single vineyard designated Pinot Noirs, and we take a similar approach to each vineyard with minimal intervention. We want each wine to capture the time, place, and the vintage it was crafted in. We employ techniques that produce wines with great structure and maintain the connection back to the vineyard of origin.

Come, join our family!

Paschal Winery and Vineyard

by Mike on January 5, 2011

Welcome to the old world palette and charm of Paschal Winery.  Our superior handcrafted wines are noted for their complexity, robust bouquets and pleasing balance.  Our hilltop vineyard site and traditional style of winemaking showcases the excellence of the Rogue Valley Appellation’s finest fruit.

The story of Paschal began long ago, when Roy and Jill Paschal bought the piece of property that is Jill’s “favorite place in the world.”  A friend lived on the property where the winery now stands.  Grapes were planted on this site by their friends, and sold to a local winemaker.   Roy and Jill couldn’t resist the delicious wine, buying it back from the winemaker by the bottle.

Years later in 2009 Ron and Donna Tenuta discovered Paschal Winery and Vineyard, quickly falling in love with the beautiful panoramic views and saw the potential of taking an already successful tasting room to the next level.

Ron and Donna are excited at the opportunity to bring their own winemaking experience and produce high quality wines from estate grown varietals and grapes purchased from other vineyards in the area.  Ron will focus on the vineyard and winemaking while Donna will assist the staff in the tasting room along with all of the community functions and special events, which are now provided.  They are both pleased to be part of the Rogue Valley wine culture.

Cana’s Feast Winery

by Mike on December 20, 2010

Located in a Tuscan-inspired winery, just a few blocks north of historic downtown Carlton, Cana’s Feast Winery has a rich history of combining bold Northwest red wines with Mediterranean-style food, hospitality and celebration.

Utilizing traditional and modern techniques in the cellar, they craft wines of richness and complexity that pair adeptly with food while retaining their respective varietal characteristics.

In the Cucina, the season and the winery garden guide menus of Mediterranean-inspired cuisine for weekend lunch, brunch and supper service. Guests dine inside or al fresco on the surrounding terraces offering expansive views of the Coast Range and the winery’s two Bocce courts.

PATRICK TAYLOR ~ Winemaker

Patrick first began crafting wines at Cana’s Feast Winery in 2004, collaborating first with former owner/founder Gino Cuneo. Taking the reins in 2007, he has since been responsible for vineyard assessment and management, fruit evaluation, harvest decisions, aging, cellaring, and working to successfully direct the style and outcome for each vintage and varietal, earning regional and national recognition for many.

Cana’s Feast Winery is open for wine tasting seven days a week and easily accommodates both large and small groups for tours, tastings, dining and private events.
